It's Jude's 2nd birthday! Today is the first of three birthday celebrations he will be having. This child will think birthdays are week-long events at the end of it all.
Today is the daycare party. Tomorrow is a cookout with the neighbors and in-laws and finally, on Saturday we will be spending it with my mom's family.
Not only is my little one another year older, we have officially hit the childhood milestone that kicks off cupcake baking for school functions. I think this phase ends after the tweens, so only 10 more years and 20 more lbs. to go.
Last night when I started looking for a banana cupcake recipe for the little monkey, I was stunned to see that a cupcake revolution is underway on the East and West coast. See, this is EXACTLY why we are leaving Kansas. We are always the last to join the party.

EDITED TO ADD: You guys aren't gonna believe this... Jude is sick on his birthday! He got sent home from his party at school because he threw up! He's back home lying on the couch, watching "Jack's Big Music Show".
I guess I'll have to save the cupcakes for tomorrow... poor little guy!
