It's strange that my first post after visiting sunny California would feature a pair of cool weather shoes.
A bit of back story will explain: I've been hunting for these wing tips since Jude was an infant! These were featured in a magazine I read before he was born. However, a combination of sleep-deprivation and nursing hormones conspired to make my lose the magazine along with much of my grey matter.
I think I've Googled every possible combination of words that could ever describe these adorable shoes, but to no avail. I could not find the shoes!
As luck would have it, I was cleaning my office when "Eureka!", I stumbled across the original magazine article. Even a blind pig finds a truffle now and then...

These shoes are quirky-cute and handmade in Poland. I love that the designer has just one style that he is continously tweaking and perfecting. Baby feet do inspire a sort of desire for perfectionism, don't they?
As a side note: sorry for so many quick entries this week. In the spirit of blogging full disclosure, it has been tough to concentrate. Someone I highly admire went home after a long bout with cancer. Man, it's hard to be a smartass when you are sad.

It's nearly impossible for me not to laugh when I see these shoes. I have about the same level of nostalgia for Vans that I do for Chucks.
I'm old enough to remember the days when Sean Penn was best known for his turn as Jeff Spicoli, the surfer dude in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High". He single-handedly turned Middle America on to L.A. beach fashion when he wore these now-classic shoes.

Western Chief creates outdoor gear for kids that makes even a Grinch like myself feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I mean, come on, who can be cynical watching a preschooler puddlejump in a pair of ladybug rainboots?
I love Primigi shoes for kids. For some reason, Italian shoes are so much hipper than ours in the U.S. Does the cryptic shoe size numbering system somehow make ours seem inferior? Or could it simply be that they are just plain adorable?
Case in point: this girly-girl version of the macho-man Chucks. I particularly love the delicious pistachio color, but coral and turquoise are other cool options.
